Apex Legends Players Find Octane's Launch Pad In-Game
By Wyatt Fossett ·
Players have started finding unreleased character Octane's launch pads in Apex Legends and no one knows if it was an accident.

Whether or not you think that Respawn is trying to pull a fast and sneaky one on us, some players are finding Octane’s launch pads around the Marketplace area of the map in Apex Legends, and they are a whole ton of fun.
We’re a few days beyond what was rumored to be the first ever Battle Pass for EA Games’ and Respawn Entertainment’s hit battle royale game Apex Legends, and the entire community is scratching their heads wondering where it is.

In a recent update, however, something odd was added to the game and no one is certain as to whether or not the Apex Legends developers did it on purpose or not. The most highly anticipated part of the Season 1 launch is the first (of what we assume is multiple) new Legends coming to the game. Thanks to some sleuthing gamers around the world, and a few mistakes by the game’s platform, we know quite a bit about Octane, the 9th character.
His leaked unique abilities include an ultimate called “Launch Pad” that has the following description; “Deployable Launch Pad that catapults users through the air.” Possibly the most tantalizing ultimate in the game, Octane’s Launch Pad could add so much to the already movement-tech heavy fps.

Conspiracy?
Some posts on Reddit as early as 12:00 PM PST on Friday, March 15th show reactions and players' finding and using these launch pads that have snuck into the game. A handful of Redditors are suggesting that Respawn is simply allowing current Apex Legends folks to get used to the new technical item, while the speculation that it’s an accident could very well be likely.
Unsurprisingly, Respawn has been fairly hushed about new content coming to the game. Instead, publishing patch notes, and attempting to debunk rumors before they grow legs. In comparison, one of the factors that led to Fortnite’s large and continued success is their continued attempts to remain as apparent as possible, and update the content in their game as quickly as they can.
Understandably, not every developer has the ability to work at this speed. It's still uncertain as to whether or not the folks behind Apex Legends will gear up and mimic this style of content release. Chance are, Respawn knew they had a great game on their hands before hitting that big red button, but did not foresee the absolute hysteria that would be February 2019, where everyone and their cat played Apex Legends.
As we continue to await the launch of the Apex Legends Battle Pass, we might as well get used to using these launch pads for as long as they are left in the game.
