Mortal Kombat 11 Pre Order Beta Will Have Five Characters
By TJ Denzer ·
Those who get in on the Beta for Pre Ordering Mortal Kombat 11 will have access to Jade, Scorpion, Skarlet, Baraka, and Kabal, among other new features.
During the Online Stress Test for Mortal Kombat 11, we only had access to three characters, online casual play, and customization that reset every time you restarted the game. It was what it was as a stress test and Ed Boon promised more fighters in the upcoming Beta. Well, now we have a confirmed roster. It looks like there will be five fighters available, which are Baraka, Scorpion, Skarlet, Kabal, and Jade.
The Mortal Kombat 11 Beta details were announced by NetherRealm Studios on March 21, 2019, a week ahead of the Beta’s start date on March 28. The announcement included the confirmation of the 5-character roster alongside various other features that will be available during the Beta period. The character customization system will be further expanded where players can change their character’s skins, gear, taunts, intro and victory cinematics, and more. A single-player experience will also be on display with the Towers of Time, which will put players through various challenges that sound a bit similar to the special towers in Mortal Kombat X.
It will be interesting to finally play the reworked Jade and Kabal, although it’s a bit disappointing that they are the only new additions to the Pre Order Beta, given how many characters have been confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 at this point. Given how recently characters like Erron Black, Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, and Kotal Kahn were revealed, it’s fair to leave them on the sidelines. That said, chracters like Sub-Zero and Raiden are interesting omissions given we’ve known about them since the beginning (Heck, Raiden was in the announcement trailer). Though there isn't much use crying over spilt milk, and we’ll enjoy jumping back in with the Beta, it’s hard not to be hungry for more characters to play.
Regardless, the Mortal Kombat 11 Pre Order begins on March 28 and runs through the weekend till midnight on March 31. Make sure you have your Fatalities down with our handy list. Jade and Kabal’s will be coming soon!
