MTG War of the Spark Expansion Gets Trailer and Release Date

The next expansion for Magic: The Gathering is nearly upon us and the fine folks at Wizards of the Coast gave their PAX East fans a new trailer and much more.
The next expansion to the critically acclaimed digital and physical card game is coming, and Wizards of the Coast unleashed the first bit of information live at PAX East today.
Right after Mengu was crowned the winner of the 2019 Mythic Invitational, Wizards designers described the upcoming in-game story, and the new changes coming in War of the Spark.
Equipped with a rapid zombie army, Nicol Bolas has set his sights on complete dominance of the world and maintains control over all of Ravnica. But will his hold on Liliana keep forever? Now, the combined powers of Planeswalkers across the lands may be the only hope in the world to stop him. Guilds across the realms have descended into chaos, and a mass of Eternals are wreaking havoc.

Coming to Magic: The Gathering Arena first, the new War of the Spark cards and tweaks will launch on April 25th, 2019. The physical release will happen shortly after that.
To build on the lore of the new War of the Spark storyline, Wizards of the Coast is also releasing a novel alongside their new expansion. The novel, titled Ravnica: War of the Spark is being published by Random House, and will hit store shelves on the 23rd of April.
