Today was the first day of the fourth month of the year, and this meant that plenty of video game developers took the opportunity of April Fools Day in 2019 to pull pranks on the communities for their games. One of these developers was Blizzard Entertainment who decided to implement a comical April Fools 2019 prank for its popular first-person shooter title of Overwatch. However, Twitch streamer Félix "xQc" Lengyel did not find the Overwatch April Fools 2019 prank to be too amusing during a match.

Overwatch April Fools 2019

The April Fools 2019 prank that made its way into the world of Overwatch today saw Blizzard make it to where everything that a player typed in the Overwatch in-game chat window would be all capital letters and include a catchphrase from everyone's favorite German hero Reinhardt. While the Reinhardt text prank was able to make plenty of player's laugh on the joking holiday, xQc was not pleased with how the Overwatch April Fools 2019 prank made it difficult for him to effectively communicate with other players.

This frustration over the Reinhardt takeover of the in-game chat window soon caused xQc to slam his desk in a fit of rage that likely got plenty of laughs from the streamer's Twitch chat.

While April Fools pranks can be a source of fun for players, they also can be frustrating and exhausting from trying to tell if announcements are legitimate ones or having to deal with troublesome changes to mechanics in your favorite games. With this in mind, it is easy to see why xQc was a tad flustered with not being able to type exactly what he wanted because of the 2019 prank pulled off in Overwatch by Blizzard. However, it is unlikely that developers will stop pulling pranks on the players who play their games in the future, as it is a holiday that only comes once a year and usually results in a good deal of comedy.
