The eyes of the Fortnite Battle Royale community are squarely trained on the upcoming Fortnite World Cup tournament where a total of $40,000,000 will be up for grabs throughout the event's online open qualifiers and LAN Finals event in New York City. While the schedule for the 10 weekly online open Fortnite World Cup qualifiers is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 14th in the middle of Season 8 of the battle royale title, Epic Games confirmed on Monday, April 8th that the entirety of the Fortnite World Cup schedule will take place over the course of three different seasons.

Competitive players found out about the schedule of the tournament taking place over the course of three different seasons when Epic Games announced that pre-registration is now open for fans to purchase tickets to the event's Finals. In the announcement of pre-registration for tickets, Epic Games announced that attendees of the Finals would receive a certain amount of V-Bucks and the Season 10 Battle Pass for free. This confirmation of a free Season 10 Battle Pass for attendees of the Finals revealed to competitors that Fortnite Battle Royale will undergo three major season changes throughout the duration of the World Cup tournament from Season 8 to Season 10.

With each new season of Fortnite making a whole host of major changes to the battle royale title, competitors will have a very rough time making their practice for the event worthwhile when the game will become drastically different with each new season that is implemented throughout the duration of the World Cup.

This practice issue was previously highlighted by FaZe Clan player Dennis "Cloak" Lepore who had stated that players will have no idea what to practice with so many changes expected to be applied to the game throughout the Fortnite World Cup. What may be a strong strategy and playstyle in Season 8 may not be viable in a competitive setting in Season 9 or 10.

However, with Epic Games currently giving no signs that the Fortnite World Cup will be played on only one version of the title, competing players will have to do their very best to adapt on the fly over the remainder of Season 8 and the entirety of Seasons 9 and 10 if they wish to grab a large share of the lucrative prize pool.
