Overwatch Baptiste Voice Actor Breaks Down His Character's Name

Overwatch is a stellar game when it comes to inclusion of nationalities, ethnicities, orientations, and more, but sometimes it doesn’t translate to fans as well as you might think. Since the release of Haitian combat medic Baptiste, people have had plenty to say about it (such as Overwatch League team Philly Fusion’s Eqo dropping a deep analysis of the character). To that end, Baptiste’s voice actor, Benz Antoine, has stepped up to the plate to deliver some knowledge on the ex-Talon operative, and the resulting video is more than a little fun.

Benz Antoine dropped knowledge on his character in a video on his personal Twitter on April 11, 2019. The video opens with the cultural difference between French and English takes on the pronunciation of “Baptiste”, addressing the silent “p” used in certain dialects.
