LCS' Counter-Logic Gaming Lose Their COO and Director of Ops
By Wyatt Fossett ·
Over the course of the last few days, Counter-Logic Gaming has seen both their Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations depart from the organization.

The middle of the pack at the end of the LCS Spring Split was pretty heated, but Counter-Logic Gaming would fall short of the playoffs by one game against the surprising Echo Fox squad. As a result, CLG has lost a few of their major team managers.
In the final week of the Spring Split, Counter-Logic Gaming was eliminated from the LCS Playoffs at the hands of a team no one saw coming. The storied CLG franchise will have a lot of work to do in the offseason while they watch Team Liquid, the LCS Champions, represent their region on the global stage during MSI 2019.
It seems that the tough split and the backward momentum of the team has potentially cost them two leading members of their management team.
Brian Tran, Director of Operations and Chief of Staff for Counter-Logic Gaming announced on social media that he has officially put in his notice with the organization.
“Forever grateful to Nick Allen [COO, CLG] giving me this opportunity & being amazing to work with day in and day out, learned/grew so much here & had a blast doing it.” read Tran’s tweet.
Tran also mentioned that he cannot wait to tell everyone what he’s onto next.
Speaking of the CLG Chief Operations Officer, Nick Allen, he also announced his decision to “step down” from the organization that he has been a part of for the past year and a half.
Been an amazing journey but I've decided to step down from my position at CLG/MSG. The last year and a half as the COO of CLG has been incredible and I want to thank the organization, staff, and fans for all their support.

Allen made mention that his decision to depart from the League of Legends organization was that of a personal nature, and no one can fault someone for accepting an opportunity that will make the quality of someone’s life outside of work that much better.
This decision was a very personal one, as I've accepted a role that will allow me to move closer to family while working for a company I am very excited to be a part of. I'll be sharing more about that soon.

It’s unclear as of now how much of an impact these two major changes will have on the structure and capabilities of the Counter-Logic Gaming team come the 2019 LCS Summer Split, but we know it’s going to be a heavy task to replace to key members of the organization.
The Mid-Season Invitational is right around the corner, so there’s not a whole lot of focus on what the Summer Split is going to look like for most of these regions. Regardless, we can’t help but wonder if new faces in a historical organization could turn things from mediocre to dominant in the next stage of the year.
