By Nicholas Barth ·
The CWL Atlanta Open is set to kick off this Friday and will consist of four groups of four teams from the Pro League. Who's set to butt heads in the opening volley? We look at the competing teams.

The Call of Duty World League (CWL) Atlanta Open will begin this Friday, March 9th and runs until the 11th. 176 teams will be making their way to the Georgia World Congress Center to compete for the largest share of the $200,000 grand prize. 160 of these teams will have to make their way through the treacherous open bracket to make it to the group stage, which is where 16 teams from the CWL Pro League await. Group A for CWL Atlanta consists of Rise Nation, Splyce, Echo Fox and Epsilon eSports. Here is a short breakdown of teams heading into the third major LAN event of the Call of Duty: WWII season.
Rise Nation
Rise Nation comes into CWL Atlanta as one of the hottest teams in professional Call of Duty. With the roster additions of Anthony "Methodz Zinni and Peirce "Gunless" Hillman, Rise Nation were close to picking up a win at CWL New Orleans and have since dominated the Pro League. Playing in the extremely tough Division A, Rise Nation was able to finish 1st with a record of 13-1, as they beat out the likes of OpTic Gaming, Red Reserve and Team Kaliber. The high performing squad will be looking to show everyone that their impressive Pro League showing was not a fluke, and that they are capable of capturing a major LAN event title. The roster that will be competing for Rise Nation at CWL Atlanta will be Methodz, Gunless, Daniel "Loony" Loza and Thomas ""TJHaly" Haly.
Splyce
Splyce is one of the very best European teams in the professional Call of Duty scene with a multitude of veterans leading the way. The team's best tournament showing this season was at CWL Dallas where they would finish second, as Team Kaliber would defeat them in a very close grand final. Splyce finished in 4th place in Division B of the Pro League with a record of 3-4, so while they are not coming into CWL Atlanta performing at their best, Splyce is still a strong threat to make a run if they play up to their potential. The European roster will be looking to grab their first LAN event championship of this season to propel them into having the same kind of success they have seen the past two years. Splyce's roster that will be competing at CWL Atlanta consists of Ben "Bance" Bance, Jordan "Jurd" Crowley, Dylan "MadCat" Daly and Thomas "Tommey" Trewren.
Echo Fox
Echo Fox has been one of the more consistent teams in professional Call of Duty for this season, but have not been able to make the leap necessary to be considered a championship level team. Finishing with a 6-8 record in the battle tested Divison A of the Pro League, Echo Fox has shown that they can compete with and beat the likes of OpTic Gaming and Team Kaliber. They will need to show this level of play on a consistent basis if they wish to make a quality run at CWL Atlanta. Echo Fox will be competing at CWL Atlanta with Renato "Saints" Forza, Adam "Assault" Garcia, Brice "Faccento" Faccento and Ulysses "Aqua" Silva.
Epsilon eSports
Epsilon eSports are consistenly one of the better European teams in the world of professional Call of Duty, but they have been struggling as of late. Finishing in last place in Divison B of the Pro League with a record of 0-7, Epsilon eSports are not heading into CWL Atlanta playing their best Call of Duty. With talented players like David "Dqvee" Harris on the roster, there is always a possibility that Epsilon can catch fire and make a unexpected run through CWL Atlanta. A strong performance at CWL Atlanta can help build momentum for the struggling team going into the rest of the Call of Duty: WWII season. Epsilon eSports will have Dqvee, Stephen "Vortex" Allen, Billy "Hawqeh" Harris and Nathan "Nathan" Orton competing for the organization at the upcoming LAN event.
With multiple meta shifts, roster changes, and ruleset changes happening since CWL New Orleans, CWL Atlanta will be giving fans a very strong picture of the current professional Call of Duty landscape and where it could be heading for the rest of the season. Rise Nation, Splyce, Echo Fox, Epsilon eSports and a qualifying open bracket team will be looking to emerge out of Group A victorious.
