100 Thieves CEO Nadeshot Reveals Importance of Rivalry with OpTic Gaming

Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag is one of the most well-known personalities in the esports industry. Having risen to esports stardom during his time as a professional Call of Duty player for OpTic Gaming, Nadeshot has since founded the organization of 100 Thieves following his retirement from playing Call of Duty professionally, and the organization has quickly established itself as a major player in the ever-growing world of professional gaming and content creation. As one can expect, Nadeshot and his 100 Thieves organization have developed a rivalry with Nadeshot's former team of OpTic Gaming that has played out in the Call of Duty World League (CWL) and League of Legends North America Championship Series (LCS).

The importance of this rivalry between 100 Thieves and OpTic Gaming was focused on by Nadeshot during a recently published video on the 100 Thieves YouTube channel that focused on the organization winning its first-ever esports championship at the CWL London Major where they defeated OpTic Gaming in the Winners Bracket Final en route to their championship.

"Everyone wants to say that I'm hyping up this rivalry or I'm making a big deal out of a match that doesn't matter or that these two teams don't have any history. Whatever the case may be. It's fine for you to say those things. I disagree with them but for me, this matchup between OpTic and 100 Thieves is incredibly important to me," said Nadeshot. "It is a rivalry in my mind. It's my former team. I built the damn team with Hector and Scump for five f**king years. Ok, and for you to tell me how much it is supposed to mean. It's just ignorant. It's stupid. It's silly. I want to beat OpTic more than any team that exists."

While some may say that 100 Thieves have not yet earned the right to claim a legitimate rivalry with OpTic Gaming due to the young history of the organization, the Call of Duty team's CWL London championship has now shown that Nadeshot's team is ready to take on OpTic Gaming at any time and walk away with a victory. Whatever you may think of a rivalry between 100 Thieves and OpTic Gaming currently, there is no doubt that there will always be plenty of attention directed at the matchup between the current and former organization of one of the most high-profile members of the esports world in Nadeshot.
