Top-Lane Takes Flight in This Week's LoL Free Champ Rotation

The latest edition of the League of Legends free-to-play champions brings the heat for the top-lane.

Top-Lane Takes Flight in This Week's LoL Free Champ Rotation

This past weekend, League of Legends Esports crowned another College Champion in Maryville University, and today we’re only a few days away from the kick-off of the 2019 LCS Summer Split, so there’s no rest for the wicked.

There are some particularly strong (in the current meta) support picks in this week’s featured free champions, but the best of them all comes in the form of picks for the top-lane.

League of Legends Free Champion Rotation Runs from Tuesdays to Mondays and consists of some randomness, and some inclusion of champions recently changed or lower in play rate.

We’d like to highlight the two specifically strong top-laners in this week’s rotation; Irelia and Gangplank.

If you’ve been watching any of the top-tier competitive League of Legends happening either at the College Championship or the Mid-Season Invitational just before it, then you’ve seen what skilled players can do with these two.

Now, thanks to them being on the rotation, players who do not yet own Irelia or Gangplank have been gifted the opportunity to hone their skills, and see if the high-flying blade dancer or the strong and indomitable saltwater scourge are champions for them. Both of these picks for the top-lane demand a fairly high level of mechanical ability, so this is a prime time to get the hours in.

This set of free-to-play champions will expire at the end of Monday, June 3rd.
