NICKMERCS Joins FaZe Clan
By Wyatt Fossett ·
It's been a big and crazy month in the Twitch streaming industry of entertainers, and not much is bigger than NICKMERCS joining up with FaZe Clan.
Last week, notable Twitch streamer and Fortnite pro Nickmercs left the Esports organization 100 Thieves seemingly suddenly. Shortly after, that same Thieves team signed CourageJD in what seemed like a great replacement for losing the star Nickmercs. However, the future of Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff was still uncertain. Until today.
“Call me FaZe Mercs, moving forward,” the streamer joked on his stream after his announcement.

On his stream today, Nickmercs said that “FaZe is doin’ me right,” after talking about how and why he left 100 Thieves so suddenly. “I get this family like vibe from the dudes over there [FaZe]. I was ready to be independent,” before talking more about how much FaZe Clan has spoken of support and care within their organization.
“This time it’s all on paper, in writing,” added Nickmercs. Which is important for the huge (almost 3 Million followers) Twitch streamer. In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Nickmercs went into details about Nadeshot of 100 Thieves making promises he didn’t keep.
“I’m finally in a happy place. It’s a hard thing for a guy like me to be on a team with people that are playin’ me. I’m a family, teamwork, let’s get the job done together kind of guy. It’s been a tough couple years. It took a toll on me,” Nickmercs said before expressing his love and adoration to his viewers and fans.
In the madness of this new-look 21st Century entertainment industry, it’s refreshing for Nickmercs to take time aside on his stream to get pretty real with his followers. Plenty of behind-the-scenes squabbles and business moves keep most fans in the dark. Especially as things like the FaZe Clan and Tfue problem hits official legal battles.
For now, FaZe Clan hasn’t said a whole lot publically about Nickmercs joining the squad, but they did promise a larger video and interview segment with Nickmercs himself dropping on their YouTube channel tomorrow.
Until then, congratulations to Nickmercs on the big move.
