Immortals to Join LCS After OpTic Gaming Reportedly Sold

One of the biggest stories in the esports world recently has been the situation involving OpTic Gaming and Houston Outlaws parent company Infinite Esports and Entertainment reportedly being sold to the esports organization of Immortals Gaming Club. Looking to acquire the LCS franchise spot of OpTic Gaming and the rest of the high-profile esports organization's assets, such as its highly popular Call of Duty team, Immortals have been bidding to acquire Infinite Esports and Entertainment. Friday, June 7th saw a new update in the situation arise that reportedly confirms Infinite Esports and Entertainment has indeed been sold to Immortals.

OpTic Gaming LCS Spot Sold to Immortals

According to a report by ESPN, Infinite Esports and Entertainment had been sold to Immortals Gaming Club for "cash and equity worth $35 to $45 million." This means that the organization will now take control of OpTic and look to rebrand its LCS franchise spot following the completion of the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.

Following OpTic Gaming reportedly being sold, the organization's new owner will be reportedly looking to also purchase a spot in the upcoming Call of Duty franchise league. With OpTic being the most popular brand in all of Call of Duty esports, the organization's new owner will likely be looking to have OpTic represent it in the brand new esports league for the first-person shooter franchise.

Due to the Immortals already owning the Los Angeles Valiant Overwatch League team, it will have to sell the Houston Outlaws Overwatch League team, as league rules prohibit organizations from owning more than one team.

With fans of OpTic Gaming having been fearing what would happen if their favorite organization were to be sold to Immortals Gaming Club, the latest update in this particular situation looks to have calmed fears of the Greenwall being dismantled. However, the future of the organization will be looking much different regarding its LCS spot and involvement in the Overwatch League.
