Riot Announces Alienware as Presenting Sponsor of Rift Rivals
By Wyatt Fossett ·
Bringing the big Alienware Watch Party and more to the LCS Arena for the Rift Rivals tournament, League of Legends and Alienware have expanded their relationship.

After the events of the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational, there hasn’t been a whole lot of spark or hype surrounding the annual North America vs. Europe tournament Rift Rivals. Seeing that both of these regions made it to an international tournament’s grand finals, there’s almost no need for a competition like Rift Rivals anymore, but we’re still getting one. At least, for this year.
Today, League of Legends and Riot Games announced a big partnership with gaming hardware and Dell Computers sub-brand Alienware. Now, as the first-ever presenting sponsor for Riot Games’ Rift Rivals, the pair expand their relationship.
“As an integral partner across the League of Legends and esports ecosystem, we’re delighted to have Alienware become the first-ever presenting sponsor of Rift Rivals,” said Matt Archambault, Head of Esports Partnerships & Business Development for North America at Riot Games. “Given their commitments to both the LCS and LEC leagues, in addition to Global Events, we’re eager to level-up the event as our own Ryder Cup, complete with unique activations for both onsite fans and our viewers.”
The 2019 Rift Rivals tournament is going to run through June 27th-29th, but we’ll get more into how and where to watch it at a later date.
For now, the announcement of Alienware as a title and presenting sponsor means that those able to attend will get to enjoy some bigger and better festivities. Alienware has announced the official Alienware Rift Rivals Watch Party.
The official watch party for Rift Rivals is where fans will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with pros, rioters and other special guests on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29. The Alienware Watch Party will take place just down the street from the LCS Arena at 3000 Olympic Blvd, Building 1, Santa Monica, CA 90404.'
The team at Alienware is also planning on bringing back Travis Gafford’s Hotline League podcast, and much more.
“As a partner collaborating actively with both the LCS and LEC, we are excited to expand our commitment to the League esports community through the support of Rift Rivals,” said Bryan DeZayas, Director of Marketing & Esports at Dell. “We believe that with the success of Europe and North America at MSI, as well as the debut of features like ProView, this will be one of the most entertaining Rift Rivals to date. We’re excited to watch the matchups between the top two regions in the world and we look forward to seeing everyone at the watch party.”
“Alienware has been an instrumental partner in the launch of the newly formed LEC and the upgrade of our esports studio in Berlin, so this new partnership is a natural extension to support the Rift Rivals event that embraces the longest historical rivalry in League of Legends esports: Europe versus North America,” said Alban Dechelotte, Head of Sponsorships and Business Development at the LEC in Berlin.
Keep it locked on Twin Galaxies for more updates leading up to Rift Rivals at the end of June. Tickets to the event live at the LCS Arena are still available via SquadUp.
