Red Reserve Ends OpTic Gaming's CWL Atlanta Run
By Nicholas Barth ·
A loss in round six of the Losers Bracket has denied OpTic Gaming a chance to play for a championship.

Coming into championship Sunday of CWL Atlanta, the talented roster of Seth "Scump" Abner, Matthew "Formal" Piper, Ian "Crimsix" Porter and Damon "Karma" Barlow were looking to capture their first major LAN tournament championship of Call of Duty: WWII. However they would begin the day by losing to Luminosity Gaming 0-3 in the Winners Bracket semifnals. Being sent to the Losers Bracket, OpTic had to face Red Reserve to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Optic Gaming would not see any better results against Red Reserve, as the European squad would hand OpTic their second 0-3 loss of the day to eliminate them from CWL Atlanta. While a top six finish at a CWL LAN event would be a great showing for most teams, the roster of OpTic Gaming was expecting to do much better than being sent home without a win on the last day of the event. Taking home a $8,000 share of the prize pool, OpTic Gaming will be looking towards improving for CWL Birmingham and the rest of Stage 1 of the CWL Pro League.
After the victory over OpTic Gaming, Joshua-Lee "Joshh" Sheppard had this to say about who he sees as Red Reserve's biggest threat as the tournament draws to a close. "I think the most competitive team in the game for us is Rise Nation. They have been looking unreal, so if we are able to make the finals we will probably be seeing Rise there."
Red Reserve will now be waiting for the winner of the Team EnVyUs and eUnited round six Losers Bracket match to play for a spot in the Losers Bracket Finals.
