Scoreboard Spotlight: Steve Rasmussen Stinks Up Dung Beetles & More!

Another week, another dollar – and another batch of fantastic gaming achievements to share! You read that right, it's another installment of the Scoreboard Spotlight where we take five highlights from the crop of new TG submissions to share with you. This week, we're going to outer space, followed by a spy mission, some Ferrari racing, a little hand-to-hand combat topped off with poopy bugs. And on top of that, we're going to talk about a very cool retro fighting game challenge courtsey of LA Gear and PerfectPacMan dot Com so let's go!

Crazymoose3k – Fighting Vipers (Xbox Series X) – Fastest Completion

Crazymoose3k felt no remorse as he destroyed the lead singer of heavy metal band Death Crunch in a 9-round victory on the 1995 Sega release Fighting Vipers for the Xbox Series X. Raxel might have been a great guitarist, but when it came to fighting crazymoose3k simply thanked him for the music before clearing the game in 4:27.83.

Stroganoff – Elevator Action (M.A.M.E.) – Extreme Settings – Points

Stroganoff took on the role of Agent 17 with extreme prejudice and escaped with a new personal best on Taito's 1983 arcade hit Elevator Action. Competing on TG Extreme Settings, Stroganoff had his hands full with faster enemies as he stole 87,600 points to take second place on the emulation leaderboard.

Chad Brevik– Formula 1: Built To Win (NES) –  Ferrari F40 - Mountain Road - Fastest Race

Chad Brevik roared into first place with style and a hard-fought victory on the 1990 racing video game Formula 1: Built to Win for the NES. Driving a Ferrari F40, Chad beat the 2012 record on the Mountain Road course by 0.1 seconds to claim a fastest time of 1:02.2.

Roger De Vore – Mortal Kombat (Game Boy) – Points

It was an epic run as Roger De Vore flexed with a massive score on Mortal Kombat for the Nintendo Game Boy. Against the beats of a thumping soundtrack, Roger solved Goro with a series of well-timed kicks followed by a flurry of knees to Tsung that sealed his victory with 7,601,000 points.

Steve Rasmussen – Dung Beetles (Apple II Computer) – Points

Something stinky this way comes – it's Steve Rasmussen with a pungent high score on the 1982 Datasoft release Dung Beetles for the Apple II computer. In this maze game, Steve chomped the dots and left behind a trail of little gifts that the dung beetles gobbled up in pursuit but not before he wrapped things up with a TG record of 4,466 points.
