RESULTS: Giants Fall as Splyce Showcase Prowess

Right now in the EU LCS, Every game is a must win for all the teams. For Giants, it’s a chance to climb out of potential tie-breaker situations, while for Splyce, it’s chasing that elusive second place bye. With tensions rising, it seems like Splyce were the team better able to handle the pressure as they cruised through a near perfect match.

This match was practically decided by the early jungle pressure of Splyce’s Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir, as he made repeated ganks to get his lanes ahead. Starting in the top lane to secure first blood, Xerxe would return only minutes later to secure another kill, before roaming bot to help out there as well.

Though Giants were able to secure the first Dragon and the Rift Herald, they paid for these objectives with their lives, as Splyce continued to ramp up the pressure. Splyce would go on to secure the first turret of the game, though a gank on the bot lane would cost them their first death.

Splyce continued to apply pressure across the map, with all five members making an appearance in the bot lane at one point, before taking down their first Dragon and pushing in more turrets. Giants were able to take down a turret of their own, but this would be the final objective they secured this game.

Splyce would apply more pressure across the map, and when fights broke out it was Splyce who would come out on top, before they finally relented long enough to fall back and contest the Baron. Though Giants made a play at keeping Splyce from gaining more power, they paid for this with their lives, as Splyce secured the Baron buff and opened up their base to minion pressure.

A last ditch effort to defend the base saw Giants fall for a second time this weekend, allowing Splyce to take down the last of their defences before destroying the nexus to end the game.
