RESULTS: Misfits Take Down the Unicorns of Love in a Battle for Pride

While neither of these teams can make playoffs due to the tie-breaker rules, this victory for Misfits was still important to show what they are capable of in the EU LCS.
It’s an unfortunate reality that sometimes not every match matters a whole lot to the standings. This victory today for Misfits does not allow them access to the playoffs, due to the tie-breaker rules, but it does give them more opportunities to figure out their strengths and weaknesses, and what they can do to improve.
The game was afoot quite early, with a roaming gank from Misfits to claim first blood in the bot lane. The Unicorns were able to respond in turn, though Misfits managed to retain control of the area and secure an early Dragon. Both teams seemed content to play passive for a time, before another team fight broke out in the bot lane, costing Misfits four members for just two kills.
As both teams traded turrets, Misfits managed to secure the Rift Herald, before more skirmishes cost individual kills for both teams. The Unicorns put their focus on the bot side for a time, securing the next Dragon and several kills, before both teams traded more turrets as they jockeyed for control of the Baron area. Though Misfits would secure the Baron, the Unicorns would secure the kills, taking down the entire Misfits squad to completely negate their newfound power.
More fighting would break out as the Unicorns secured the next Dragon, and both teams lost several lives in the process. Though the minor skirmishes would continue, it would not be until the next Baron spawn that a major fight would occur, but this time Misfits were the team able to gain the upper hand, taking down multiple members of the UoL squad as they secured the Baron and the next Dragon before attacking the Unicorns base.
As the Unicorns tried to defend their base, Misfits were able to pick up multiple kills, eventually taking down the entire UoL squad as they pushed for the nexus and ended the game.
