A brand new weapon will be making its way into the popular battle royale title in the near future.

Since the introduction of the battle royale game mode into Fortnite, Epic Games has added a multitude of new weapons into the game for players to enjoy eliminating their enemies with. From a hunting rifle to the latest heavy shotgun, many powerful weapons have been added to the potential arsenal that players have a chance of acquiring. Today, Epic Games revealed in the latest in-game news update for Fortnite: Battle Royale that a Guided Missle will be the next weapon added to the title.
With the description of the new rocket launcher promising to deliver "remote control destruction" from above, it looks as though this rocket launcher will be vastly different from the rocket propelled grenade (RPG) that is currently in the game. Having the ability to control an explosive rocket as it flys through the air will bring a very new element to the battle royale title, as players will have the ability to take out opponents and structures with deadly accuracy without having to expose themselves to their enemy.
The latest weapon to be added into the game, the heavy shotgun, received mix reviews from the community, as some players believe it is too powerful, especially when a player has two in their aresenal. However, other members of the community believe that due to the rarity of the weapon and the low chances you get one or two of them in a match balances out the extreme power it provides to players. It will be interesting to see how players react to what could be a meta changing weapon, as the Guided Missile's remote control function could provide a huge advantage to those who are lucky enough to obtain one.
There has been no announcement of when the new Guided Missile will be made available in Fortnite, but with the majority of new weapons being added into the game with the title's weekly updates, it would not be surprising to see the new explosive ordnance being added with Patch v3.4.0 sometime later this week.
