RESULTS: Clutch Gaming Strike Back To Equalize Their Series against 100 Thieves

Clutch Gaming seem to have found their footing in this semi-final match, weathering the storm of 100 Thieves before swiftly striking back to win the game. Here’s a brief breakdown of the match.

Clutch Gaming made the first major move of the match, securing the first Dragon of the game as soon as it spawned to get an early advantage. Both teams made aggressive trades in the bot lane, though neither were able to land the killing blow. The 100 Thieves continued their assault on the bot side of the match, sending multiple members to secure the second Dragon of the match while also picking up the first two kills of the match.

Clutch Gaming responded in the mid lane, claiming a kill of their own to try and even things out. Clutch Gaming followed up by attacking the bot side, claiming another kill to try and salvage their lane. 100 Thieves responded by also attacking the bot lane, picking up another kill as the Dragon respawns. With their lane pressure still strong on the bot side, 100 Thieves secure their third Dragon of the match to extend their lead before taking down the outer turrets in the top and bot lanes.

Clutch Gaming responded to the map pressure by taking down the bot outer turret, but proved unable to keep the pressure going as 100 Thieves continue to pressure the lanes. In a rare lapse this game, 100 Thieves are unable to stop Clutch Gaming from claiming a Dragon of their own, though their response is to continue to pressure the side lanes as they look for other advantages. The teams clash in a major team fight around the Baron area. Clutch Gaming are able to secure two kills before moving to claim the Baron buff, rotating down to pick up their second Dragon as well.

With the power of the Baron buff, Clutch Gaming push in the mid lane and destroy the inhibitor there. As 100 Thieves are split in their defence, Clutch Gaming take down both nexus turrets before attempting to withdraw from the fight. The resulting team fight costs 100 Thieves four members, while Clutch Gaming lose three themselves, though with the man advantage Clutch Gaming are able to destroy the nexus and win the game.

After remaining in control for much of the duration of the match, 100 Thieves were not able to hold on as Clutch Gaming swiftly turned the game on its head with a decisive Baron play. The game ended after Clutch Gaming turned a 3.3k gold deficit into a 3.3k gold advantage, ending the game in thirty-four and a half minutes to level out the series.
