RESULTS: 100 Thieves Set Up Match Point with Their Second Victory Over Clutch Gaming

While the first two games featured decisive victories, this match was a lot more of a brawl as the teams continued to bounce back and forth in their struggle for an advantage. Here’s a brief breakdown of the match.

The teams continued the series trend of early clashes in the bot lane, though this time neither were able to gain much of an advantage over the other as the battle for vision control continued. First blood is claimed by 100 Thieves in the bot lane, before returning just a minute later to pick up another kill and take down the outer turret.

100 Thieves rotate to the top lane to contest the Rift Herald, pulling multiple members in to force Clutch Gaming away as they secure the buff. 100 Thieves continue to pressure the side lanes, taking down the top outer turret to extend their lead before a team fight erupts in the jungle allowing Clutch Gaming to pick up a kill for themselves. As the teams again clash in the mid lane, Clutch Gaming are able to make a favourable trade, picking up two kills for a single death before rotating to attempt the Dragon. Unfortunately for Clutch, 100 Thieves again live up to the name as they steal away another Dragon to maintain their lead.

Both teams battle for vision control as the Baron spawns on the map, before another excellent engage allows Clutch Gaming to claim another kill. 100 Thieves respond quickly, catching another kill for themselves before they move to start the Baron. Clutch Gaming manage to turn around the engage from 100 Thieves and score four more kills before securing the Baron for themselves. With the power of the Baron, Clutch Gaming proceed to push in multiple lanes, but the flank engage from 100 Thieves nets them four kills and the opportunity to push the lanes themselves before securing their third Dragon of the match.

The teams continue to clash in the mid lane in preparation of Baron respawning, though neither team can find the advantage at this stage. 100 Thieves split their focus to pick up another Dragon whilst still pressuring the Baron, before Clutch Gaming make the call to start the Baron and bait out an engage. 100 Thieves take the bait, but turn the fight around, picking up three kills and securing the Baron before preparing to push in multiple lanes at once.

With the power of the Baron buff, 100 Thieves siege the base of Clutch Gaming, destroying the mid and bot lane inhibitors before pulling back to reset. As the Baron buff wears off, both teams look for positioning around the Elder Dragon, though 100 Thieves pick up three kills in the ensuing fight before rushing the nexus to close out the game.

100 Thieves claimed victory here with a match that went a bit longer than the previous two, closing out the game in just over 40 minutes after building an almost 10k gold lead through their superior team fighting abilities.
