Is Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) Online Cross Platform?
The latest hit title from Rockstar Games is currently available on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles with a release on PC expected to come in the future. However, cross platform play and progression is currently not available for Red Dead Redemption 2. This means that players on Xbox One can not play with Playstation 4 players in RDR2 Online. This also applies to progression for the single player campaign and multiplayer modes for the massively popular game, as players do not currently have the ability to transfer their Red Dead Redemption 2 progress from one gaming device to another.
Cross platform play would allow Xbox One and PS4 players to battle against one another in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online's battle royale mode.

While the answer to the question of is Red Dead Redemption 2 cross platform is currently no, the great success that Fortnite has seen with its venture in allowing players from Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile to play with one another and to transfer their progression from one device to another has given hope to the video game community that other developers will do the same for their titles.
With the Online portion of Red Dead Redemption 2 only being in its Beta version at the time of this writing, there is still hope however that Rockstar Games could potentially enable cross platform play and progression for RDR2 and its online game mode in the future, as the title is expected to stick around in the spotlight for years to come and will continue to be a major candidate for cross platform.
