Over 1,500 People Have Signed A Petition to "Get Rid of Fortnite"

The massive rise in popularity that Fortnite Battle Royale has seen over the past few months is something the video game industry has never seen before, as it seems like just about everyone is playing or talking about Epic Games' huge hit. There is no arguing that the title is currently the most popular game in the world at the moment, but that has not stopped a petition whose goal is to "get rid of fortnite" from gathering 1,509 signatures at the time of this writing.

The petition has gained 475 signatures since April 7th.

The petition was created by two people named Chloe and Jaden two months ago and was originally created as a joke, but now looks to have turned into a movement that has gained a substantial support base considering how popular Fortnite is currently in the world. Now the petition looks to be representing a bigger discussion that has surrounded the game since it began its rise to a level of unprecedented popularity, which is the concern of people playing the game too much.

"okay so i see this blew up. It was originally made as a joke and Initially i hated fortnite but i started playing It and it’s actually kinda fun. Me and my friend were just joking and we hoped people would notice but,I see how the game can take away from family time and It is a problem in that sense. I also see how mothers get annoyed and wife’s/girlfriends when their significant others ignore them for It. Regardless we never knew this would blow up so big. It was initially a joke but It seems to be a rising issue within families because everyone has been so addicted to It. The game has caused quite an uproar with a lot of women and i definitely see how. We made this petition 2 months ago and totally forgot about It I hope nobody gets too upset over this petition (we might leave It up because It got very noticed from many websites and news articles and It seems it’s actually a serious problem from when It was made 2 months prior). This is my last edit of this petition i hope you all aren’t too upset from what It was originally,” the petition explained.

Even with the concern of players, especially children, spending too much of their time playing Fortnite, the battle royale title is showing no signs of slowing down as it continues to be one of the most popular games on the market with celebrities challenging each other to play, and its release on mobile platforms allowing everyone to play the title anywhere they would like. The likelihood of Fortnite being removed from the world of video games is very low considering it would probably cause a crisis if it was no longer available to play for millions of fans across the world.
