Shanghai Dragons Practiced for Stage 4 of Overwatch League Without Interpreter
By Nicholas Barth ·
Shanghai Dragons player Se-yeon "Geguri" Kim revealed that the Overwatch League team did not practice with an interpreter in preparation for Stage 4 of the Overwatch League.
According to Shanghai Dragons player Se-yeon "Geguri" Kim, the Chinese and South Korean mixed Overwatch League team did not practice with an interpreter in preparation for Stage 4 of the Overwatch League.
Geguri's translated message regarding the absence of an interpreter for the Shanghai Dragons was posted on Reddit and found its way onto Twitter.
"The interpreter for our team left before stage 4 (due to sickness) so we had to prepare all our games in stage 4 without a translator until now. The new interpreter will be coming today," wrote Geguri in a Discord.

Lacking an interpreter to help the mix of Chinese and Korean players of the Shanghai Dragons communicate effectively with one another has no doubt affected the Stage 4 performance of the team and has possibly stalled any improvement the team could have made coming into the last stage of Season 1 of the Overwatch League.
Sitting with a 0-4 record in Stage 4, the Shanghai Dragons have added onto the longest losing streak in the history of professional sports and with only 6 games remaining in Stage 4, there is a very strong possibility that the Dragons could finish the inaugural season of the Overwatch League without a single victory to their name.
While the additions of Geguri, Eui-Seok “Fearless” Lee, Gi-Hyeon “Ado” Chon, and Junjian “Sky” He have helped the team become more competitive in its matches, Shanghai has yet to find a way to close out games that they are in position to win at the very end.
The Shanghai Dragons' next opportunity to secure their first victory in the Overwatch League will be against the Seoul Dynasty at 6:00 PM PST on Wednesday, May 30th.
