PUBG Halloween Event Teased With Short Video Featuring Clowns
By Ford James ·
Bluehole has released a short teaser video for the PUBG Halloween event, featuring a very sinister looking clown.
As Halloween draws near, video games are striking up the fear, with decorations and events, you probably shouldn’t hide behind a fence… Okay, we’ll leave the rhyming to the experts. PUBG has just released a short teaser video on their Twitter, showing off what appears to be a clown-themed Halloween event coming soon. While Fortnite has opted for Halloween decorations covering almost every house in the game, PUBG has gone for a full blown event.

It seems that way, anyway. The nine-second long teaser shown above shows a few people walking round one of the abandoned buildings in the game, followed by a clown crouching above some pipes. The heroes fire a shot through a doorway before sprinting to the exit… but the door slams shut in their face. Spooky.
We don’t know anything other than what was shown here, but we’re expecting it to be a Halloween event. Potentially similar to Fortnite’s Limited Time Modes, could we see something inspired by SAW in PUBG? Or perhaps I.T? The clown does resemble Pennywise after all.
Interestingly, there’s been no hints towards anything Halloween themed in the latest battle royale game, Call of Duty: Blackout. Many people have declared Blackout as the “PUBG killer” - could this Halloween themed event bring people back? Of course, Bluehole are coming to the end of their “Fix PUBG” campaign but it doesn’t seem to have helped, as the player numbers are down almost 50% in the last six months.
The latest patch hasn’t been a hit either. It was meant to decide your region automatically, in order to reduce server strain, but instead broke server allocation completely. Shroud, one of the game’s most popular streamers, has been playing Blackout a lot more recently but he doesn’t think the game will maintain its player base, saying “people are going to get over it pretty quick.”
In other battle royale news, an in-game event with the cube has been leaked in Fortnite.
