Fortnite Dynamite Disabled Less Than An Hour After It Was Added
By Ford James ·
The 6.30 content update introduced Dynamite to Fortnite at 8am Eastern. At 8.52am Eastern, it was disabled.

Less than an hour ago we reported on the 6.30 content update for Fortnite that went live today. It introduced a brand new limited time mode called Wild West, where there are only a few old-timey weapons available, including the newly added Dynamite. Fans got to play with the new item for approximately 52 minutes before Epic announced that they’re disabling the item due to an “increase in client crashes.”
“We've temporarily disabled Dynamite while we investigate an increase in client crashes,” reads the latest @FortniteGame tweet. “We'll update you once we have more information.” It’s important to discern between temporarily disabling an item due to a bug or unforeseen circumstances and vaulting it. If an item gets vaulted, it’s removed out of the game with no expectation that it will come back. Temporarily disabling it means that it’s just gone until Epic can find a fix for the problems.

It is quite baffling how often this happens with Fortnite, given the size of Epic Games. Of course, it’s impossible for them to test every single possibility but causing players’ game clients to crash is pretty severe. Let’s hope they zero in on a fix quickly and players can get back to playing with the new item and enjoying the Wild West LTM. While they’re at it, maybe they could nerf turrets too. Please, Epic?
The new item and mode aren’t the only additions with this update: there’s also a brand new in-game tournament called the Scavenger Pop-Up Cup Duos which alters some of the core game behavior such as material gathering and storm timers. You won’t be scavenging any Dynamite for a while though!
