Yuumi: The Magical Cat - League of Legends Champion Reveal

Today, Riot Games finally gave the world a real look at their new Support Enchanter champion for League of Legends, Yuumi the Magical Cat.

After some major leaks at the beginning of the week, the internet really forced Riot’s hand, and the League of Legends team pushed a Yuumi teaser video just yesterday. The teaser confirmed the champion and slowed the rush of leaks just long enough for Riot Games to put the finishing touches on their reveal trailer.

Magical Cat

Yuumi is the first true support champion to be developed by Riot’s champion design team since the release of Rakan two years ago. Prior to that, it was another two years between Tahm Kench and Rakan.

The world of League of Legends is ready for a new support champion, and there’s no better way to give the fans what they want than to make said champion an adorable cat.

Seeking her “master” Yuumi is transported to the rift by her magical compendium companion. This book, which was featured in yesterday's teaser, looks to play a major part in her magical abilities.

When her Master goes missing, the Magical Cat hops on the case, making new friends and bopping enemies along the way.

From the look of her moves in the trailer, those leaked images of her ability descriptions seem to be real and not fabricated. The healer, protector, and utility support champion is going to bring a very interesting kit to the bot-lane and team fights.

When Can We Play Yuumi?

We’re going to be getting far more information about Yuumi before the feisty felines official release, but when can we expect to be able to play as the magical cat?

According to Riot, Yuumi might hit the PBE (Public Beta Environment) as soon as early next week. This test-server stint is going to offer Riot Games’ champion team the final chance to tweak a pre-launch Yuumi.

When will Yuumi make the leap onto the public servers for all to play? Well, it was revealed that the Magical Cat will be a part of the game patch version 9.10 that is currently scheduled to be released as the post-MSI update, on May 14th.

Support-mains assemble! Are you excited to get a new, adorable, and cat-inspired champion for your pool? What are you most excited to find out about Yuumi?
