Tilted Towers, Retail Row, and other locations were destroyed in a new Fortnite Season 8 map update that took place during the Loot Lake unvaulting event.

It has been a very interesting day in the world of Fortnite Battle Royale on Saturday, May 4th. The highly anticipated Loot Lake unvaulting live event took place, and it saw the infamous Drum Gun win the unvaulted vote from the community and be added back into the popular battle royale game. However, the return of the Drum Gun was not the only major change to come out of the Fortnite Loot Lake Unvaulting Season 8 event, as the event saw the title's volcano erupt and result in Tilted Towers, Retail Row, and a whole array of other areas get destroyed by giant fireballs in the new map update.

New Fortnite Season 8 Map Update Destroyed Tilted Towers

With Tilted Towers having been a target of speculation regarding locations that Epic Games could destroy for multiple seasons now, it is very interesting to see Tilted Towers finally be destroyed by the way of the Fortnite Loot Lake Season 8 unvaulting event. It was a destructive affair, as multiple fireballs from the erupting volcano made their way to Tilted Towers and destroyed it in mere seconds with barely anything left to remember it by.

In addition to Tilted Towers being destroyed by the new Fortnite Season 8 map update, Retail Row saw a huge fireball land right in its middle and level it to almost nothing. Another fireball from the Fortnite volcano that erupted during the Loot Lake unvaulting event also landed near where Greasy Grove used to be located at.

You can find footage of the destroyed Tilted Towers and other pieces of the aftermath that resulted from the new Season 8 map update that came by the way of the Fortnite Loot Lake unvaulting event below thanks to James Jarvis.

The community of the battle royale game was expecting some craziness to occur with the Season 8 Fortnite Loot Lake unvaulting event taking place right before the start of content period 9. With the return of the Drum Gun and Tilted Towers, among other locations, being destroyed in a new map update, it is safe to say that Epic Games brought an adrenaline-fueled live in-game experience for players on Saturday, May 4th.
