The latest Fortnite patch notes are here for update 6.22 and we've got a new gun, two new Limited Time Modes and some other changes.

Blitz is back! The crowds go wild and Epic is raised up for a crowd surf. Okay, not really, but Blitz is actually back which is fantastic. For those who aren’t aware, Blitz is a Limited Time Mode which is essentially Fortnite streamlined. The storm moves in as soon as you land, you get much more resources and ammo, chests spawn more often and the waiting time between safe zones is shorter. Games never last longer than 15 minutes each so you can jump in for a much quicker experience than a normal game.

Alongside Blitz, there’s a brand new limited time mode called Team Terror. This has two teams of 32 players each face off against one another, again with increased resources, materials and chests. The “terror” aspect of the mode comes in the form of zombies from the recent Fortnitemares event. There’s zombie spawners all over the map, including gold zombies which will drop legendary items upon their demise. It’s a neat way to farm better gear if you camp out by one of the spawners.

Of course, the Heavy Assault Rifle has also been introduced today. It was teased last week on the splash screen so it’s not a huge surprise, but to finally get our hands on the most powerful assault rifle in the game feels great. It can be found as a Rare, Epic or Legendary variant and deals 44, 46 or 48 damage respectively. It shoots far slower than any other assault rifle in the game though so doesn’t quite work in close range combat. Watch your ammo supply too because it only holds 25 rounds per magazine.

As for other changes with this patch, you can find the full patch notes here. The Hunting Party skin has also been leaked two days early and believe it or not, it’s an aimbot - check that out here.
